In the next couple of weeks we will begin to take orders for our Heritage Breed Turkeys. We are delighted to announce the prices will stay the same as last year, despite soaring feed prices! Frank Reese, Danny Williamson, and their team assure us that this is one of the best flocks ever! To get the size you want, it’s a good idea to order way ahead, even if it seems crazy to think Thanksgiving during a heat wave!

We have declared October National Goat Month. Actually the goats have declared that through their natural breeding cycle! This year we will be selling goat meat from dairy farms across the country, helping pump much needed income into their operations. The goats will be sold whole or in half. Goat is the most frequently consumed protein in the world, but in the USA it is hard to find. It is a delicious, low-calorie, low-cholesterol, meat with great versatility.

We hope you will want to support our sales efforts in the Fall as we look to bring a new protein option into the mainstream. We will include helpful step-by-step videos in every purchase that demonstrate how to butcher, and recipes for how to cook your goat meat.

With the Maple Syrup, Lamb, Triggerfish, Lobster and Salmon project behind us we are very excited about the rest of 2011. The Fall will bring with it our once a year offer of Paw Paws! And stay tuned for our beautiful Holiday Catalog designed by master Italian designer Andrea! Never before has the heritage food movement included a group of individuals so talented and with so much dedication and energy to overcome the hurdles necessary to move product for independent family farmers.
