Red and Blue Nutcracker Cocktails
The nutcracker is to New York City's beaches and parks what the chopped cheese is to our delis — totally ubiquitous and a guilty pleasure that never disappoints. Charismatic “beachtenders” hawk these colorful and boozy concoctions all summer long anywhere crowds gather. I can’t compete with these all-stars on their turf, so I hunkered down behind the bar to come up with these love letters to these NYC icons.
Red Nutcracker
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Tito's vodka
- 2 oz American Fruits Sour Cherry Cordial
- Champagne or Prosecco
Preparation:
Pour 2oz of Tito’s Vodka into a glass with ice, add 2oz of American Fruits Sour Cherry Cordial and top with Champagne or Prosecco. Stir and enjoy!
Blue Nutcracker
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Owney’s Rum
- 1 oz blue curaçao
- ½ oz lime juice
Preparation:
Add 2 oz of Owney’s Rum and 1 ounce of blue curaçao to a glass with ice, top with ginger beer and a half ounce of lime juice. Stir and enjoy!
